One of the most ignored topics however, has been the clean-up process, and how the "hot water" high pressure cleaning process was perhaps more damaging to the ecology than the oil spill itself ... but the eco-nutjobs wanted it cleaned up NOW, so they used the harshest methods they could find... and didn't bother to think through to the long term damage they were causing by their hysteria.

And most of the families in Alaska that have been commercial fishermen for DECADES rather than jumping on a notion in an opportunistic or maybe romantic fashion (and there is nothing romantic about being a commercial fisherman - nor is it particularly opportunistic unless working your butt off without sleep for a short period of time for potential wealth strikes you as an opportunity) have learned - like grain farmers and ranchers - that you have to take the lean years with the bountiful ones. If you enter that arena dreaming of getting rich quick, you just might end up writing columns for an on-line blog site / newpaper...
