  Leonard Lee Rawson is unjustly charging that there might be voting fraud in Dona Ana County elections. However, the problem is more likely to be Rawson and the Republican Party lawyer Pat Rogers, who has appeared in person at the homes of minority voters, intimidating and confusing them about their right to vote in the general election. The Republican Party released the names of ten of these people who were accused of voter fraud-- almost all of whom are Hispanic. The allegations proved totally false and scurrilous.
  
  The county clerk's office verified that all of the voters were in fact legitimate. But last week Rogers stated that the state party had hired a private investigator in connection with vote fraud. When Mr. Rogers was asked by the New Mexico Independent about the confrontations with minority voters, he replied: "I have no interest in responding to the accusation."
  
  What are Rawson and his fellow Republicans up to? When election reform was proposed in the past, Mr. Rawson was always against it. I guess the Republican strategy of intimidation of New Mexican voters is the way to reform elections. If Mr. Rawson cares about the average voter and the election process, he should denounce Mr. Rogers and his strong arm tactics immediately.

  Whoa, WHOA, Hemingway. We have not heard any evidence that Pat Rogers showed up in person at any voters' homes. What we know is that a private investigator—who said he worked for Pat Rogers—made visits to the homes of newly registered minority voters. That's a very different thing.
