The New Mexico Independent: Mayor Chavez compromises on junk food ban

  • wookee · 1 year ago
I don't even eat junk food, but this was BS. We're talking about adults here, not kids in school. They should have the right to pick what they can buy. I could understand adding some alternatives if they weren't there, but banning everything? This guy needs to find another job.

How about allowing the <insert appealingly="appealingly" named="named" group="group"> of New Mexico sell crack in those vending machines? The profit margin is WAY higher than for Doritos, and what's good for </insert><insert appealingly="appealingly" named="named" group="group"> is that their profits remain healthy so they can remain appealing.</insert>

Oops, bad formatting.... try that again:
"How about allowing the [insert appealingly named group] of New Mexico sell crack in those vending machines? The profit margin is WAY higher than for Doritos, and what’s good for [appealingly named group] is that their profits remain healthy so they can remain appealing."

Funny. I have to admit, I seem to be in the minority on this question. Those vending machines are a heart attack waiting to happen. I'd like to see a paradigm shift, so wasn't as perturbed by the fiat as everyone else seemed to be. As to that fiat... it's clear that ruling in that manner isn't generally the best way to win allies.
