That was the other guy's brush that you picked up so quickly.

It seems like a straw man argument asking me to show where socialism, etc. worked moderately well. I could point you to the studies on how Denmark is the happiest place on the planet (no, sorry McD's), but I don't want to get into another discussion on the merits of that kind of study.

It's funny, I didn't get into the olympics at all this year, mostly because i couldn't get past the charade of the Chinese government putting on a show. I wasn't all that thrilled with the 2,008 drummers, mostly because I kept associating their precision as the face of totalitarianism in their Government.

Re: Fight back!

1. The morass of right wing drivel is still scores more intelligent than dogma spouting leftist droning.

2. You are right its is not original at all that after 40 years that liberals are still not intelligent enough to get past the fact that communism and socialism fail. (period) Nobody is trying to paint liberals anything, they painted themselves bright commie red along time ago and refuse to acknowledge that the only thing Marxist thing has ever brought to this planet is the death and destruction of millions of lives.

3. My rebuttals aren't at a high level, I make no claim that they are, so stop being a whiner.

4.The reason I believe what I believe is because I believe in the ability of individuals to make choices rather than some collectivist theory that a government is better able to decide. I am not right wing, I am not greedy, and their is not a club that I want to be a part of. I believe what I believe based upon experience, reflection and an inherent belief in my fellow man. I believe and know the best form of help that can possibly come to somebody in need is in the form of the voluntary individual.

5. The problem with the "modern" liberal is that they don't believe that people can help people voluntarily. They believe that we should all just turn over our money to the government so the government can redistribute it as they see fit. I am not greedy, I just believe I can to a better job getting my donations to those who need help than a corrupt bureaucratic government.

6. I challenge you to show me one example of where communism, communitarianism, or socialism worked even moderately well. Where the people were free, happy, not starving, or not oppressed.

7. So I have to ask are you liberal because you can't believe in your fellow man enough to trust him to do the right thing?

Re: Fight back!

What a jerk! Take me to the mat? Bring it on,

I said fairly respectful. I was ignoring the hands rising up out of the mud that work at dragging any discussion down into the morass of right wing drivel.

Someone trying to paint liberals with a 40 year old communist/socialist baiting brush is really original. I'm just bringing that to the reader's attention.

It looks like, however, you and I are the only ones reading this. Oh well....it must be the high level of your rebuttals.

So is the reason that you believe what you do is because you are a bitter, greedy right wing loon that is worried about not being in the "club"?

Re: Fight back!

Wait wait wait, you are level accusations of name calling at me you hypocritical jerk....YOU THOUGHT THE DISSCUSSION WAS FAIRLY RESPECTFUL????? Your joking right....I mean you have to be joking.....If so I apologize for the jerk comment, if not here is a quote of yours:

"but I wonder how you manage to get an ISP in your one room cabin out in the woods."

Yeah so effectively calling somebody a loon out in the woods isn't name calling and disrespectful. You seriously need to slow your roll. You can't claim the high road after you sling mud. I make no mistake in calling you a drone and would happily take you to the mat any day to explain why I believe what I believe. I am not the one spouting dogma without reason for what I believe.

Oh and the only typical thing about this discussion is the fact that a liberal, called names and then the moment the gloves came off and somebody called them on their weak bs you start calling foul and whining about somebody attacking you. If you don't like a good fight say on sidelines, nobody will call you names there.

Re: Fight back!

Way to go TJ, advance the discussion.

It's too bad you can't even come up with simple phrases or reasons for believing in what you do other than calling people names. Typical.

I thought the discussion with Rite was fairly respectful.

Re: Fight back!

How cute, you cute and paste your nonsequiter arguments all over, please the above comment on drones

Re: Fight back!

If this election about judgment, the choice of Sarah Pahin shows poor judgment on McCain’s part.

Any intelligent person knows when you choose to have unprotected sex at 43 you have a very high probability of having a child with Downs Syndrome. She used poor judgment not using birth control.

Would she use better judgment dealing with our economy?

Would she use better judgment dealing with our enemies?

I for one am not willing to take a chance on Pahin’s and McCain’s judgment.

Re: Fight back!

Riteizrite,

Don't worry you are trying to employ logic in your arguments. Liberal drones like lucero, don't do well with logic. Come to think of it they don't do well with anything that involves gray matter. Hence the term drones. The can only recite dogma and rarely can they explain in a cogent manner why the believe what they do except to say that they "care about people."

Re: Fight back!

LOL, I understand your need to have a computer to write your manifestos, but I wonder how you manage to get an ISP in your one room cabin out in the woods.

You are way too quick to make assumptions on what I do or do not appreciate. Oh well, your loss.

Wanting to make the country a better place does not mean a person hates the country. Only the simple minded don't realize this.

Re: Fight back!

Yes, liberalism is outright socialism. Taking from me to give to you is communism. Obama is extreme in his communistic views. Only the simple-minded can't see it.

No, I'm not a citizen of the world. I'm an American. And will fight for America and it's values. I do not look to China as an example as Obama does. Their regime is an oppressive, communistic one. I also will not blame America as Obama and his wife do. I am not a citizen of the world like you and Obama. I'm an American.

The only reason you can write on this forum is because of that blood that was spilled for your freedoms. You obviously don't appreciate it. With reverent respect I honor those who have given their life for me.

Anybody who says, "G-- D--- America" should get out of America... with everyone who defends him. Amazing how many leftist wackos hate this country.

Re: Fight back!

Your simple association with moving this country to the left with "socialization" proves more about your devotion to the right-wing noise machine than your desire to listen to different views.

No one wants to take away your second amendment right to have a gun. This argument has always seemed like such a red herring for people that need to have an issue to call their own.

The lack of comprehensive health care in this country is one reason why you end up paying so much for you own health care. Have you thought about spreading the health care costs around even more than they are now? Perhaps the corporations that you worry about so would then not have to pay so much for your health care and could then pay a more livable wage.

The right wing's desire to legislate based on "family values" will do more to enhance the loss of freedom and liberty than providing a more equitable system of pay and services in our society.

You are a citizen of the world. You can not live in a vacuum, and the world is a much worse off if this country tries. This country continues to use the vast majority of the planet's resources, and unless we decide that shedding seas of blood to protect our economic (and corporate) empires is still in our greater interest, then we will work to enhance the entire human race.

And lastly, Rev. Wright has spent over 20 years as a community leader. It's laughable that his entire career has been reduced to the 20 second sound bite made so popular by the leaders of the "club". Do you know what he talked about for the remainder of his time in the pulpit? I will give you this; if Obama hadn't bothered to associate with organized religion, this would never had been an issue.

The leaders of the "club" are sending one message. Maintain the status quo, let the greedy continue to horde their wealth and rest assured that it will indeed trickle down on all the worthy ditto-heads.

Re: Fight back!

While the talk show hosts are human and thus not perfect on either the conservative or liberal talk shows, both are biased to their view and proclaim theirs to be the correct one.

I did notice that missing in the article was the fact that the majority of the major newspapers and TV stations strongly promote their agenda to the left, but author apparently has no problem with that. It doesn't bother her that the news and images we are bombarded with daily portray the terrorist, insurgents, and oppressors as victims and the Americans risking their lives as nothing short of demons in combat fatigues.

I am not thrilled with McCain and most of those who label themselves "Republicans." They have drifted farther to the left and seem to have forgotten their roots. But the left has gone further to the left than ever before.

Like the talk show hosts, both candidates have their human shortcomings, and their philosophies are miles apart. The fact remains that the modern day left, including Obama, want to take away our rights and transform our democracy into a socialistic state. I do not want to have my second amendment right taken away. I do not want to pay for your health care. I do not want to financially support or grant citizenship to those who are in my country illegally. I do not want to overtax the companies that employ our nation, pay for its health care, and already pay their fair share of taxes. I do not want to see their profits garnished and given to the poor. This is a recipe for economic ruin, and worse, the fall of America, by taking away what made America great. It is Marxism reborn, the loss of freedom and liberty, the death of capitalism, and the beginning of a new world order.

I am not a "citizen of the world" as Obama boasts. I am an AMERICAN. I recognize the seas of blood that have been spilled to make me an American and have protected our borders. I am unwilling to eliminate our borders, to negotiate with terrorists and rogue nations that want us or anyone wiped off the face of the earth. When America and its borders are gone, then we will know the pain of living under communism and total government rule.

First Obama claimed his pastor was like his own father, then when it was politically expedient, he claimed he never knew the man (i.e. his agenda.) If he sat under a flagrant racist and belligerent America-hater for 20 years and couldn't discern Wright's philosophy, how can he negotiate with Ahmadinejad, Jintao, and Putin? These cunning communist dictators have an expansionist agenda and want nothing more than to see the overthrow of our great nation. They will prey on Obama’s naivity to the destruction of America. Will he then tell us, after the damage is done, “I didn’t know their evil agenda?”

Perhaps you should look past the leaders of the "club" and their human faults, and hear the message they are trying to send.
