With today's announcement by Laurie Weahkee, the newest Native American superdelegate, Senator Barack Obama has ensured that all four Native American superdelegates support him. Yesterday he was endorsed by superdelegate Kalyn Free.
This is remarkable, and underscores Obama's message of hope appeal to the leaders in the Indian Country. Frank LaMere, Nebraska superdelegate and chairman of the Democratic National Committee's Native American Caucus, endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President in February. Obama also secured the endorsement on June 3 by Margarett Campbell, Montana Democratic Party vice chairwoman, who already had endorsed Obama, but had to withdrew due to state regulations.
Kalyn Free is a Choctaw of Oklahoma, Margarett Campbell is an Assiniboine Sioux of Fort Peck, Montana; Frank LaMere is a Winnebago of Nebraska;
Laurie Weakkee is Cochiti and Zuni Pueblo member from New Mexico.

All Obama is doing is promising to offer more taxpayer-paid "freebies" than Hillary. (Obama vs. Hillary) vs. the Manchurian Senator McClown isn't a choice at all -- it's just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. None of them will bring federal spending under control, and all of them will regulate as many aspects of the economy and Americans' private lives as they can get away with.

many many thanks to Laurie for so clearly articulating why Obama is deserving of her endorsement - throughout this campaign he has been direct about the absolute need to rebuild our infrastructure for all of our communities and has consistently won the support of and inspired the votes of our young people (he has also managed his campaign w/grace, dignity, courage, and remarkably successful financial acumen in stark contrast to the outright dishonesty (Bosnia), disregard for rules (Michigan where she ran alone), and ineptitude (husband and advisors being paid by interests she purportedly opposes)of his Democratic opponent. The NM Clinton campaign continues to support divisiveness and polarized behavior that have done nothing but make the wealthy wealthier and impoverished all of the rest of us economically, spiritually, and environmentally.

Ms Weahkee has either not researched or has chosen to ignore the previous support and stances held by Pres Bill Clinton's Administration in the 1990's with their STARK support of native sovereignty and protection of Native Americans' culture/ lands/education/healthcare etc. It is very unfortunate that passion and assertion of Clintons' strategic vision with REAL SOLUTIONs for ALL Americans has been misread as "Aggression". As a Clinton supporter, I have FULL Trust and Faith in Sen. Clinton as a leader with great strength.
ksandra spews such hatred and believes that ALL Americans votes SHOULD NOT be discounted???
oyegithamu.. Obama supporter...is your posting non-aggressive? To me it is cruel. Ms Weahkee.......are YOU listening to the Obama supporters words? or will they fall on deaf ears come August?? Pity that people who get to vote do not seek higher ground and disenfranchise other Americans to win an election. Sounds like 2000 and 2004 all over again.
