Water Quality is just as important as water quanity.

Re: Clean water under attack

I would say even with them taking steps, it's not enough. Especially in regards to the many out of state threats who want to come in here and drill for oil or uranium near potable and regularly used water sources just for the sake of them making profits. There's also situations up near Veguita, where outside companies are trying to come up and be the middle man to supply the northern part of our state with the water for them uphold their part of the deal in regards to the Rio Grande Compact. I appreciate the efforts that the Env. Dept. is taking, yet special interests and their influence also need to be taken into account.

Re: Clean water under attack

Although Mr. Price does a good job of documenting hazards affecting our water quality, he left out what our State regulators are doing to protect our resources. It would be helpful for him to discuss what the Environment Dept. and its specific bureaus do to protect our water supplies.
