More worrisome this year is the inadequacy of voting machines, for the record turnout expected. This election will not likely be close.

To "ProudRepublican" --- proud Americans of all parties, color and gender are voting for Obama/Biden for a reason. I am overjoyed that the majority of my fellow Americans have rejected the false accusations and desperate smear tactics that have been the hallmark of the McCain campaign. They have rejected ignorance in favor of competence.

Barack Obama provides hope to a cynical nation. He is very possibly the most inspiring leader I have seen in my lifetime. He is extremely intelligent and yes, that does matter at a time that our country is in crisis. Sarah Palin, on other hand, rambled from one smear to another.

We all have a choice:
-- We can vote for a candidate who worked his way to the top schools in our country, and graduated in the top 5% of his class at Harvard Law School. Or, we can vote for a candidate who entered the Naval Academy through family legacy and graduated in the bottom 5% of his class.
--We can vote for a candidate who focuses on hope or one who focuses on character assassination
--We can vote for a young man who had the wisdom to pick as a VP candidate a seasoned Senator and expert on foreign policy; Or we can vote for a 72 year old who picked as a VP a person who has proven she is not qualified to hold any national office. The examples of her ignorance are endless - and stunning.

Do you want "Joe the Plumber" to lead our country? I sure don't.
If that is "elitist" call me an elitist. Our country is in two wars, and economic crisis not seen since the Depression. We NEED a change of direction. We NEED a President and Vice President who are exceptional and not ordinary. We need a President and Vice President that are intelligent and competent enough to understand complex issues and seek expert counsel from qualified advisors.

We had 8 years of Bush - advertised as someone you might "want to have a beer with" and an "ordinary Joe." Bush - the one who promised to be a "uniter" and not a "divider"; lower our taxes and keep our economy sound. What we got was a divider of historic proportion, record job losses, an economic crisis, and a President that thumbed his nose at the law and eviscerated our Constitution.

We need a change. And God willing, tomorrow we will have that change.

Re: Caging the vote?

I am shocked at the title and story. The only person who talks about "vote caging" is some local PI? That doesn't raise any red flags for the reporter or the editors of this story? He also says he was "contacted on behalf of the RNC" yet the actual person who did the call says later on:

"Stefan declined to say whether or not he was recruiting on behalf of RNC, saying, “I don’t fully know who’s involved."

This is clearly a slanted article trying to do harm the day before the election and the NMI should be ashamed that it printed this as an actual "news" story.

Re: Caging the vote?

Sounds to me like the Dems are building a "just in case" case here. All this nonsense will go away if Obama wins.

As far as I'm concerned, the American Criminal Liberties Union can waste all the money it gets from its far left supporters it likes. That will be less money it has to spend on worthwhile things like getting the crosses off the Las Cruces City seal, a case where it lost badly, but won't talk about.
