ABQ bus ridership still up despite dropping gas prices

Even with gas prices plummeting from a July high of $4 per gallon to the current price of $1.84 per gallon — the lowest gas prices have been since 2004 — bus ridership in the Duke City is still up from this time last year.

  • Yes, Greg Payne, many of us have "braved" taking the bus despite your ongoing efforts to subvert this vital public service, through your lousy and corrupt (see your relationship with NMTU) approach to this vital public service. If only we had a city administration that placed in charge of city services public servants who actually believe in government (rather than R wing nuts like Payne who believe government to be the problem, never the solution) then Albuquerque might actually have a fully functional bus service. As it is, those of us who use the bus "brave" too few routes and drivers; poor access to bus passes; poor training and supervision of bus drivers, etc. Go away Greg, get a job in that much vaunted private sector you R's give so much lip service to (when not seeking crony political jobs--what exactly is it you have on Mayor Marty anyway?).
